[UK/NL] Cross-border agency dispute: advising a UK liquor producer on its Dutch agent relationship

Supporting international agency relationships through coordinated cross-border advice.

International agency relationships often require businesses to navigate different legal systems while maintaining commercially effective partnerships. When questions arise, understanding both jurisdictions is essential to reaching a practical solution.

In this matter, the UK branch of a US-based liquor producer sought legal advice regarding its commercial relationship with its Dutch commercial agent.

The project was led by Crispin Dick and his team in the United Kingdom, working closely with Tessa de Mönnink to provide coordinated advice on the cross-border aspects of the agency relationship.

By combining local expertise from both jurisdictions, the client received clear guidance on the legal framework governing its relationship, allowing commercial decisions to be taken with greater certainty and confidence.

This project illustrates how the Distribution Law Network brings together specialists from different jurisdictions to help businesses manage international agency, distribution and commercial relationships across Europe.
