[FR/NL] International framework agreement under Dutch law: securing cross-border commercial relations

Securing an international framework agreement governed by Dutch law.

International framework agreements can provide an effective basis for long-term commercial relationships, but they also require careful coordination when negotiations involve parties and legal frameworks from different jurisdictions.

In this matter, an ice cream supplier and a Netherlands-based purchasing group sought to finalise a framework agreement governed by Dutch law for their international commercial relationship.

The supplier was advised by DLN members Nicolas Genty and Jessica Ramond (France), with Tessa de Mönnink (the Netherlands) providing specialised advice on the aspects governed by Dutch law.

The collaboration between the French and Dutch teams helped ensure that the agreement reflected the parties’ commercial objectives while providing an appropriate and secure contractual framework under Dutch law.

This project illustrates how DLN members combine established client relationships with local legal expertise to support the negotiation and structuring of international commercial agreements across Europe.
