[FR/BE] Annual commercial negotiations and logistical penalties: cross-border support for an international group

Supporting annual retail negotiations and disputes over logistical penalties.

Annual negotiations with major retailers can involve much more than agreeing on commercial terms. For international suppliers, they can also raise questions around logistics, contractual performance and the penalties imposed by retail partners.

In this matter, a multinational manufacturer and distributor of cleaning, hygiene and pharmaceutical products required legal support in its annual negotiations with retailers, including major supermarket chains in France and Belgium. The company also needed assistance in discussions concerning logistical penalties claimed by its retail partners.

DLN members Nicolas Genty (France) and Sandrine Kinart (Belgium) worked together to advise the company throughout these negotiations, combining their knowledge of the respective French and Belgian legal and commercial frameworks.

Their coordinated involvement allowed the client to address both its annual commercial negotiations and the specific issues surrounding logistical penalties through a consistent cross-border strategy.

This project illustrates how DLN members provide ongoing support to international businesses managing complex relationships with major retailers across different European markets.
