[DE/IT] Rethinking a distribution model in Italy: strategic and legal cross-border analysis

Assessing alternative distribution models to support business growth.

As markets evolve, distribution structures that once served a business well may no longer meet the expectations of customers or support future commercial objectives.

In this matter, a German company identified that its existing distribution model in Italy was no longer aligned with market demands and sought legal advice to assess whether a different distribution structure could provide a more effective framework for its operations.

DLN members Thomas Nägele and Marco Venturello combined their expertise to analyse the existing arrangements, evaluate the legal and commercial implications of alternative distribution models, and identify the options available under Italian law.

The cross-border assessment provided the client with a clearer understanding of the opportunities and risks associated with different distribution structures, enabling it to make informed strategic decisions for the Italian market.

This project demonstrates how the Distribution Law Network supports businesses not only in resolving legal issues, but also in designing distribution strategies that are adapted to local market realities across Europe.
