Supporting annual commercial negotiations with major Dutch retailers.
Commercial relationships with major retailers require regular attention, particularly when annual agreements must be negotiated within the legal and commercial framework of another jurisdiction.
In this ongoing matter, a Belgian chocolate and sweets producer requires advice on the conclusion of its yearly agreements with Dutch retailers, including some of the Netherlands’ largest supermarket chains.
The project is led by DLN member Sandrine Kinart (Belgium), working in close cooperation with Tessa de Mönnink (the Netherlands). Their combined expertise provides the producer with both continuity in the management of its commercial relationships and a clear understanding of the Dutch legal environment in which negotiations take place.
This recurring cooperation allows the client to approach its annual negotiations with greater legal certainty and to address contractual issues as its relationships with Dutch retailers evolve.
The project illustrates how DLN’s cross-border cooperation extends beyond individual transactions or disputes, providing businesses with ongoing legal support for the management of established European distribution relationships.
